When I rode the bus home from 3rd and army today there was a group of hooligans in the back of the bus. The word “fuck” was flying around like…well, a motherfucker.
They were freestylin’, talking about how they fucked each other’s bitch, and standing on the seats. The bus driver was yelling at them, they were laughing, you get the picture. But they seemed harmless enough. I mention them because they are the cast of players in the greatest moment of my life.
I got off the bus early because it was nice out, flat enough for me to skate, and it gets to a point downtown where it seems faster to walk than to ride the bus. I got to the next stop as the bus was letting off the next group. This was the boys’ stop.
They were walking in a loose group and when they got to me the guy in front said, “HEY” (it’s in capitals because it was loud as shit) and tapped me on the shoulder/chest with the back of his hand. He continued, looking at me but obviously directing his words to someone else,
-”TELL THIS WHITE NIGGA HOW YOU FOUND A DOLLAR”
-”TELL THIS WHITE NIGGA HOW YOU FOUND A DOLLAR IN THE TRASH”
-”TELL THIS WHITE NIGGA HOW YOU FOUND A DOLLAR IN THE TRASH THE OTHER DAY”
By now his boy had made it up to the front of the pack, “THE OTHER DAY. FUCK THAT.” To me, “I FOUND A DOLLAR IN THE TRASH TO-DAY.” Then they walked on.
So that’s how he did it.
Unfortunately I couldn’t respond; I was too busy grinning from ear-to-mother-fucking-ear, which continued for about 10 blocks and still comes back now and then. So that’s the greatest moment of my life thus far. Wish you could have been there.
